Why I Serve

A parent once described the school system to me as a building with a hundred doors and no signs. I understood exactly what she meant. Families usually contact a trustee because something matters deeply to them and they do not know where to take it. Their child may be struggling. They may have received an answer that appears to be confusing or unsupportive. Sometimes they simply feel nobody has listened carefully enough. I became a trustee to serve those families and the wider community.  I listen to the concern, ask informed questions, and help people find the right door. That is the work and it matters to me.

I will always listen to constituents, be accessible, ask difficult questions at the Board table, advocate for responsible decisions and follow through on the issues I commit to pursuing.

23 Schools in Vaughan Ward 4 & 5

I represent 20 elementary schools and three secondary schools across Vaughan, Area 3, Wards 4 and 5. That includes communities in Maple and Thornhill, each with its own unique strengths and needs. As a trustee I have the wonderful opportunity to champion local voices. My most meaningful insights come from communicating with community members, listening closely to families and understanding the evolving needs of our students. Twenty-three schools is more than a list on a website. Each one is a community with students, staff and families who deserve to be heard.
